JANAKALYAN SEVASHRAM -Chennai

Janakalyan Sevashram - Chennai branch, started in the year 2002 is an old age home for the unsupported, underprivileged old men and women and also for the children who are deprived of care and love of near ones.

It presently houses and feeds 22 inmates. It is sustained by the donations of large hearted Philanthropists.

It accepts even small donations in cash and kind for food, clothing, medicine, and sanitary needs of the resident senior citizens who are treated with great care.

It has been operating in rented premises ever since its inception. With residential localities becoming more and more expensive in terms of rent, it moved to the present premises in 2005. However, this building too is rented at enormous financial strain. (At present it is paying Rs.18,000/month.) With sky - rocketing rentals, it is becoming increasingly difficult to continue in this place also.

Hence Janakalyan Sevashram - Chennai now proposes to construct own dwelling place, which would greatly relieve the monthly outgo by way of rentals. Above all, the inmates will have an assured place to stay without having to periodically move from place to place. The present premise is not able to accommodate more people also due to shortage of space.

Janakalyan wants to accommodate as many deserving senior citizens as it can, provided it has enough own space. Keeping all these things in view it has started dreaming its future goal.
